This resolution was reached during an emergency sitting of the council which was held online on Monday, 7th of April, 2025, following an earlier emergency sitting during which the council had mandated representatives in faculties and halls of residence to gather the perspectives of students in these constituencies regarding the increment.

There was a hiatus during the sitting during which members of the council collated the responses of various students in all the constituencies in the school, following which Hon.
