The University of Ibadan Students' Representative Council (SRC) resolved to conduct a student-level survey in order to find out students' stand on the proposed increase of the maximum figure of payable basic dues to the sum of five thousand naira (N5,000.00) on April 5, 2025.
This resolution was adopted during the Council's first emergency session held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 where the proposal, first submitted by the Council of Faculty Presidents and then the Council of Hall Chairpersons, was subjected to deliberation.
This decision, according to a memo released by the council, underscores the council's "unwavering dedication to student representation, ensuring that their collective voice is heard and considered in matters that directly impact them [the students]."
As at the time of this publication, Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall representatives at the SRC as well as the newly elected executive council members have sent out surveys to gather the perspectives of Zikites on the matter.
