Technical Glitches, Logistics Issues Plague Zik Hall Elections

The election process of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall has been stalled and affected by some technical issues.

The election, which was scheduled to begin by 10am, did not begin till a little after 12pm, with only a handful of voters able to vote within that period. According to some of the electorates reached out to for comments, the voting link was not sent to their student email like in the previous sessions.

An electoral committee member reached out for comments and said that the issue was from those who designed the website and that the list of accredited voters was sent to the people who designed the website. He further stated that the issue was caused by the fact that the voting link was being sent out in batches, leading to some people not receiving the link on time.

As an alternative, the electoral committee members sent out a voting link to the Hall's WhatsApp platforms with Zikites being enjoined to come physically to collect the password for voting. This however raises concerns about some Zikites who are not able to make themselves physically available to collect their password being disenfranchised.

"Most people have gone home because it was originally supposed to be online. So some people not receiving the email is actually a big issue," a floor rep candidate who pleaded anonymity revealed to Zikpress.
