The Sigma Club on Saturday, 8th of March, 2025 held a conference celebrating 75 years of its existence. The event which was held at the K.A.A.F auditorium has in attendance both present and old Sigma club members.

Speaking to the press during the event, the Sigma Chief Olalekan Michael Ajibola described the organization as a social and philanthropic club that organizes social events and gives back to the society.

When asked about how the club has been able to sustain its tradition, the sigma chief stated that the club was built with integrity and discipline at its core. According to him, "Our discipline in the club has been one of the core factors that sustain us up to this moment, and the dedication of our old members, the old Sigma, the native brotherhood, Sigma club is a brotherhood, whether you are a current Sigma or an old member, you are still part of the club, so the support we get from them, mentorship is a core of what has kept us standing to this present moment, and you know, humanity is a club that we give back to humanity, and then the values that we've been trained with is something that we cannot, even when you leave the university community, as an old Sigma, you still give back, because the values are already in you, and you cannot separate yourself from it."

Speaking further, he revealed that the club is only exists in University of Ibadan so as to maintain the club's excellent tradition and that if the club had expanded to other schools, these traditions would not be effectively upheld and monitored. He further stated that provisions are made for people who are non-University of Ibadan students but who have the Sigma values to become honorary members.

He also revealed that the club has a capital project in the works. The Sigma House project as he describes it has provisions  in place for sponsorship only needing needing school approval before proceeding.

Speaking on some of the controversies that has surrounded the club in recent months especially with the Sigma Chief's League, the Sigma chief stated that the whole issue stemmed from poor management and that he intervened to help resolve the issue by bringing back the team that was arbitrarily disqualified.
