Aspirants for the position of House Secretary in the University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Adeyemi Oluwaseun and Adeboye Temidayo Sewanu, have denied allegations of defacing the school environment with their campaign materials.
At the UI SU Press Night and Presidential Debate, Adeyemi admitted that his supporters pasted fliers on walkways but insisted it was not an act of defacement. “I stated to my supporters that they should paste my fliers on walkways and the ground,” he said.
Adeboye, however, distanced himself from the act, stating that he was not directly responsible. “The initial plan was to paste the fliers on the floor,” he explained. “My posters were posted by my supporters and not by me.”
He further maintained, “I didn’t deface the student community buildings.”
