The Politics Editor of Zik Hall Press, Faith Adediran, has been elected as the General Secretary of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ-UI).
In the UCJ-UI general election held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, Adediran secured victory with 79 valid votes against four void votes, solidifying his position in the 37th administration of the union.
Speaking on his victory, Adediran expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support, stating, “Honestly, it was a mixed feeling. While I am happy, it is also a wake-up call for me. A call to service," he said.
"My major plans are to initiate a sustainable database for UCJUI, give more visibility to the Book Club and to create a periodic feedback mechanism. The last plan I believe will help in fostering communication between LPOs. "
"Also, there will be several official and unofficial gatherings of CJs which will aim at fostering synergy among CJs and LPOs," he stated.
Other elected executives include Olanshile Ogunrinu (President), Ayeye Toluwalope (Vice President, Editorial), and Ogunleye Moboluwarin (Vice President, Administration).
