The Students’ Union Electoral Commission of the University of Ibadan (SUECUI) has sworn in 30 commissioners to oversee the 2023/2024 electoral process.
In a statement released on January 17, 2025, and signed by Olanrewaju O. Ibrahim, Head of the Publicity Sub-Committee, and Olaniyi S. Dolapo, Head of the Logistics Sub-Committee, SUECUI announced the commissioners’ appointments.
The group comprises representatives from faculties, halls of residence, and postgraduate communities, ensuring widespread representation across the university.

The inauguration of commissioners follows SUECUI's earlier announcement on January 16, signaling the official commencement of electoral activities for the academic session.
The ban on electioneering will be lifted on Saturday, January 18, kicking off a detailed timetable of events that includes candidate nominations, screenings, and the elections for the Students’ Executive Council (S.E.C.) and the Students’ Representative Council (S.R.C.).
