Letter To My Old Friend

By: LivingPen

Soaked in distant ages
The camaraderie,
Drenched with memories and smiles
That took us to heavenly Miles,

Missing the smiles that sat amidst
Your visage,
Reminiscing the captivating folktales
Emanating from my mother's enclaves,

Ohhh, solemn bubbles of Ose River
Where our infant ankles patter,
Where lurks the sonorous voice?
Of birds that accompanied my shoelace,

Thousands of years
In current flow of rivers,
I wish I could hold your hand
And say- my friend you are mine.
