Los pistoleros came from behind to trash young boys 5-1 at the Zik hall maracana, in the ongoing Zik league played on Saturday 7th December 2024.
The game kicked off at 8:14 AM with young boys showing so much fervor and resilience in the early stages of the game, taking the game to Los pistoleros.
The first goal scoring opportunity fell on the path of wisdom but his effort was wide. Heskeyman was controlling gameplay at the middle of the park but young boys were compact and resolute with their marking and interceptions.
The deadlock was broken when wisdom Coasts into a pocket of space after being set up by tayo’s timely weighted pass, beating daveayo between the sticks to open the scoreline, 1-0 to young boys.
Young boys gaffer ringed in two changes with the likes of bashiru and ayomide coming in . Los pistoleros almost found the leveler with Akinpade driving from the right flank setting up Chris who couldn’t find his footing.
Another glorious opportunity fell into the path of Christ who beats the goalkeeper but was denied by the crossbar.
The marvellous coached side amped their efforts late in the first half as they found the equalizer , when Akinpade dazzling run beats his marker finding Chris kygo who slams his effort into the back of the net 1-1. That was the highlight of the first half as the referee signaled the end of the first half.
The second half started with fireworks after the likes of MJ oyewole and pelumi the debutant was installed into the game.
The substitutes had immediate impact after a beautiful interchange of play at the middle of the park as heskeyman shimmies, Coasts into a pocket of space , locating M.j who sets up pelumi complementing the pass with a well timed finish putting Los pistoleros ahead with a 2-1 lead.
They further compounded the woes of young boys when when MJ flicked on a pass to Akinpade who cuts in and slotted home from close range making it 3-1.
M.j turned provider yet again completing his hatrick of assists after finding pade who netted his second of the game making it 4-1.
Pistoleros continued to capitalize further on young boys defensive frailties as Heskeyman added another after unleashing a piledriver from outside the box, sending the ball rocketing into the top corner of the net before final whistle, rounding off the emphatic 5-1 victory.
