Breaking: ABH and Three Faculties Suspended from Jaw War for Two Years

By: Àkànní Olúwaségún

The Alexander Brown Hall (ABH) and the Faculties of Pharmacy, Clinical Sciences, and Dentistry have been banned from participating in the Jaw War debate competition for the next two sessions.

Recall that the Alexander Brown Hall Literary and Debating Society (ABHLDS) withdrew from Jaw War 2024 edition: Rise of Legends. In their statement, ABHLDS expressed dissatisfaction with the judging system and raised concerns about the competition's organization.

The decision, announced by Dr. Demola Lewis during the second round of the Inter-Hall Jaw War 2024, imposes further restrictions on the affected constituencies.

Members are prohibited from representing any other constituency in the competition during the suspension period.

Additionally, while senators from these groups retain the right to speak, they will lose their voting privileges in Jaw War-related deliberations.

Any constituency wishing to contest the suspension must first pay a fine of ₦10,000 for their case to be reviewed.
