The attorney general of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, Tomilayo Oyedeji on Wednesday announced the prosecution of two Zikites, Akujobi James and Agun John for washing beside the Hall’s water tanks in front of C-Block which violates the approved code of conduct of the Hall.
The hearing notice circulated by the Tomilayo indicated that the defendants (Akujobi James and Agun John) would face Nnamidi Azikwe Hall judiciary council on Saturday, 23rd of November, 2024.
Speaking to Zikpress, the attorney general highlighted Zikites’ negligence, and disobedience to rules and regulations of the Hall. He cited needs to enforce compliance to the code of conduct of the Hall. “With my observation about Zikites’ attitude to rules and regulations within the Hall, they often think those rules only exist within the confines of the black and white. Thus, when violators are being punished, I believe, it will make them to wake up and be obedient “
“The defendants are entitled to legal representation and fair hearing, and it will be displayed this Saturday.” he concluded.
When asked if the defendants refused to pay fine instead of prosecution or the opportunity of fine was refrained, “not all offenses are compulsorily required to be fined first. Also, from the interaction between the defendants and the person that caught them, it can be denoted that they had intention of challenging any action we take” he answered.
The Attorney General assured that the defendants will be afforded legal representation and a fair hearing.
