The session kicked off at 7:00 AM in the hall's car park, featuring games like Monopoly and Scrabble, along with engaging workout activities. When asked about the main purpose of the event, the Zik Hall Sports Minister, Mr Ayobami Ojeniyi, explained that it aimed to create an atmosphere for hall residents to have fun, build relationships, and, most importantly, unwind from the stress of the semester.
“The main purpose of the session was to foster a space where residents relieve themselves of academic pressures and network—that’s why we invited residents from other halls, such as Queen’s Hall. We’ve dubbed the event, "Sweat the Stress.'” He stated.
The session also included a free salsa class, offering residents the chance to learn and enjoy the art of salsa dancing. This engaging activity not only provided a fun way to unwind but also highlighted the physical and social benefits of salsa, such as improving coordination, boosting confidence, and fostering connections among participants.
