Invincibles sent out an emphatic and ominous message to their opponents with an absolute demolition of Emergence FC in a gloriously chaotic and utterly one-sided clash in the second phase of the zik hall league played at the maracana on 23rd of November 2024.
They scored seven times in the first half heightening their impeccable goal scoring record, added another in the second, and could easily have netted more against a shell-shocked and shambolic emergence side whose defensive errors were too numerous to recount .
The high-pressing, energetic and ruthless tabletoppers were on a different level to their opponents, as they have been for pretty much every opponent they have faced in the league this season .
In a dizzyingly madcap opening 10 minutes, wisdom the emergence winger found the back of his own net putting the opponents ahead. invincibles almost doubled the lead after A.samaad wiggled his way through finding Bolu(ibadan)whose shot was saved by Ife.
The biggie coached side increased their tally after samaad found Afolabi who volleyed his effort into the back of the net beating Ife the goalie to make it 2-0.
The invincibles scored five more in the first half of proceedings with Victor smashing in a deflected third for the invincibles before Bolu( ibadan )finished off a delightful ball over the top from Afolabi , and Victor poked in his second at the near post.
A.samaad compounded emergence's misery latching on to a pass from Bolu as his effort was spilled by the man between the sticks with the ball finding it's way into the back of the net.
Right before halftime Bolu(ibadan) complemented Afolabi's lovely dink over the top as he smashed his effort into the bottom left corner making it 7-0.
The second half was up and running as emergence FC tried to reduce the deficit. Coach biggie ringed in few changes with the likes of toki, Adeola junior and Peter adeoti coming on the pitch.
Emergence has a late goal, but it is only a consolation. Qudus came on as a substitute in the second half, and he earns some credit for his efforts thus far. A.Samson (natty) locates the attacker in a pocket and shoots on the turn, netting the Invincibles and narrowing the gap making it 7-1.
It was an utter dominance from the league leaders as Bolu(ibadan) bagged his hatrick , compounding emergence woes making it 8-1 towards the tail end of the encounter.
