The Students' Union of the University of Ibadan has on Monday, 16th of September, 2024 released a call for donations to reach a fifty million naira target to support five hundred UI students.
This information was contained in a message signed by the UI'SU PRO Olumide Omotayo and released on the union's social media pages.
"The recent hike in school fees at the University of Ibadan has left many students struggling to continue their education. For some, the dream of a better future now seems out of reach. But with your help, we can change that," the statement read in part.
"The Students' Union is reaching out to the public for support to ensure that no student is forced to drop out due to financial hardship. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a life changing difference."
"Let’s come together as a community and show that we stand by our own. Help us ensure that these bright minds continue their education, pursue their dreams, and contribute to a better future for all," the statement concluded.
Recall that the School authority has ordered all students to pay their fees before September 20 following which the school portal will be closed.
