On this week's episode of Village Beauty, we have the UI'SU Vice President, Miss Boluwatife Aboderin, popularly known as Tife. In this interview with Zik Hall Press correspondent, Awoyeku Olayinka, she gives us insight into her career as a podcaster and event host as well as her perspective on Zik Hall.
Zik Hall Press: Welcome to Village Beauty, kindly introduce yourself.
Miss Tife: I am Boluwatife Aboderin, the current students' union vice President in the University of Ibadan.
Zik Hall Press Welcome, Miss Tife as you are popularly called, what are the things that you engage in aside from academics?
Miss Tife: I am a podcaster, an event host, voice-over artiste and a writer.
Zik Hall Press: Being all of these and as the Vice President of the Students' Union of UI, how do you manage them with your academics with one affecting the other?
Miss Tife: I ensure I always have a schedule and I don't do all, all the time.
Zik Hall Press: As the Students' Union Vice President of UI, how has the experience been?
Miss Tife: It's been demanding.
Zik Hall Press: Give us more insight as regards how it has been demanding. Share your experience with us.
Miss Tife: It's demanding because there's always so much to do being Vice President. It comes with being there for so many people and also trying to be there for oneself and one's academics.
Zik Hall Press: The position of power requires selfless service, have you been living up to it since your inauguration as the Vice President of UISU?
Miss Tife: Yes, I have as I've done more for other than I do for myself in terms dedicating my time, days, energy and money.
Zik Hall Press: What is your opinion about students leadership in UI?
Miss Tife: I believe student leadership in UI is purely sacrifice and service as student leaders do more of sacrificing for the student body than themselves.
Zik Hall Press: What was the most challenging task you have ever encountered since you became the Vice President of UISU?
Miss Tife: I'd say balancing VP Duties and my academics alongside my project.
Zik Hall Press: Talking about Halls of Residence in UI, what is your opinion about Zik Hall?
Miss Tife: Opinion in what sense? It's an undergraduate hall, just as the rest.
Zik Hall Press: I mean what can you say about Zik Hall?
Miss Tife: Well, like I mentioned, it's an undergraduate hall, just as the rest. I can't say much about it.
Zik Hall Press: Do you have any experience that fascinated you about the Hall?
Miss Tife: Maybe the brotherhood among them.
Zik Hall Press: As we round things up, what is your view on feminism in Nigeria?
Miss Tife: I think women just want to have some sense of fairness and equity.
Zik Hall Press: Do you think they are getting the attention they deserve?
Miss Tife: Not fully but it's not like it used to be.
Zik Hall Press: Do you have any parting words for the general students populace as we round up?
Miss Tife: It's your world, own it!
