UI'SU Delays Congress Due to National Protests

By: Kehinde Fafure

In a recent memo, the university's student union has confirmed that it received a call for a Congress from students, backed by 250 signatories as stipulated in Article XIII(2) of the constitution.

While the union has acknowledged the request, it has decided to postpone the Congress until the situation in the country stabilizes, citing ongoing national protests as the reason for the delay. This postponement comes after students had previously expressed concerns about the union's delayed response to their call, which was initially recognized on July 25th.

The union has pledged to reschedule the Congress once normalcy is restored.
