The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) on Saturday unveiled the names of six universities whose students were beneficiaries of its first batch of loan disbursements. They are the University of Ibadan, University of Benin, Bayero University, University of Ilorin, University of Maiduguri and Federal University of Dutsin-ma in Katsina.
This was revealed in a statement by NELFUND's Head of Media and Public Relations, Nasir Ayitogo, according to Vanguard.
"The total amount disbursed to these institutions stands at approximately ₦2,026,163,340.00," NELFUND said in a statement on its X handle on Saturday. "This amount has been distributed across six Nigerian tertiary institutions to support student access to education."
In the statement, NELFUND further provided details and a breakdown of the disbursement, showing that the University of Ibadan received ₦201,114,650 of the total amount.
