NELFUND Disburses Over ₦200 Million to University of Ibadan Students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a significant sum of ₦201,114,650.00 to the University of Ibadan, designated to cover the fees for the 2023/2024 academic session.                                                                                                                       

This amount is to cover the fees of one thousand, three hundred and seventy students (1370) students of the institution that previously applied for the students Loan.

This development was confirmed in a memo from the Office of the Registrar dated August 9, 2024, and addressed to the Dean of Students. The memo outlined that the Bursary Department is currently processing the funds to enable the concerned students to obtain their Smart Receipts.

Students who have already paid their session fees prior to receiving the loan are eligible for a refund. To claim this refund, beneficiaries must apply through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, providing their account details along with a photocopy of their original payment receipt.

The Registrar emphasized that this information is only applicable to students who applied for and were approved for the NELFUND loan.
