In a game that featured two elite forces, the action began right from the first whistle with Dr show who wanted to add to his impressive goalscoring form received a swirling cross and pulls off a save from Dave after his header was tipped over the cross bar.
Both teams seemed to be going all out against each other probing for the opening goal. Dibia mc earnest almost opened the scoreline after racing forward from the wing, beating his marker but his attack was repelled after an impressive block
. the first half witnessed a barrage of offensive display, as a defense splitting through ball was laid to Ayomide of Vanguard FC but his effort was a whisker away. Another Goal scoring opportunity fell into the hands of Ayobami who drifts into the right and his curled effort pulls off remarkable save from Dave who has been called into action multiple times n the first half.
The deadlock was broken when the attacker, mj Oyewole, defeated the man between the sticks with a rocket hit after Dibia slipped in a timed pass. Olami dove right, tipping the ball with his fingers, but he was unable to stop it from creeping in. This broke the tie. Coach Marvellous infused Heskeyman with additional attacking weaponry in response to Dibia's call for an offensive performance.
Towards the tail end of the first half, Dr show pounced on a defensive miscalculation but his knuckle shot was saved by Dave preserving their 1-0 lead.
The second half witnessed an attacking change from the side trailing as Emmanuel(mbappe) was subbed on , in the bid to grab an early equaliser. The substitution paid off as Vanguard FC foundfound the leveler very few minutes into the second half. The goal came against the run of play after Emmanuel(mbappe) was played through with his dazzling pace who fired a low pile driver beating Dave whose fingertips were not strong enough to stop the strike.
The pressure appeared to have turned sides, and the game became considerably more tight.Midway through the match, Heskeyman did some exquisite move off the left, earning Pistoleros a free kick. Heskeyman took advantage of a set piece opportunity and skillfully passed the ball to Mj Oyewole, whose attempt was thwarted by the woodwork.
Both teams piled pressure on each other seeking to take the lead, but the defense of both sides proved resolute. Very late in the second half with the last chance of the game, against the run of play a quick counter attack with ayomide played through flanked by Emmanuel(mbappe) who opened on the other side against one defender,it was a two against one situation but ayomide with all the time in the world skied his effort wide .The referee signaled the end of the encounter with both teams sharing the spoils.
