The University of Ibadan Students Union has, in the early hours of Wednesday, released the resolutions made during the Tuesday protest on the university campus.
The protest began around 10pm on Tuesday night as a reaction to the memo from the Works and Maintenance department which stated that electricity hours on the university campus would be reduced to 10 hours per day.
The resolutions made during the protest includes that there will be neither lectures or transportation within the campus on Wednesday and that the protest continues by 5am today with the Union executives expected to provide the available resources.
Other resolutions include: the school authority must retract the memo announcing the electricity rationing as well as the total reversal of the hiked school fees.
The Union also called for an end to the ongoing victimization of the 3 students facing Students Disciplinary Case for the peaceful protest carried out on the 13th of May, 2024.
