UI SRC Rejects UI' SU's Plan for the 2023/2024 Academic Session

The Student Union's plans for the 2023/2024 academic session, presented by the Student Union President, Mr. Aweda Bolaji, have been deemed unfit for adoption by the Student Representative Council (SRC).

The objection arose due to the lack of official presentation standards. Honorable Makinde, a member of the council, pointed out that the plans were handwritten and lacked a letterhead and the president's signature. Additionally, none of the Student Union executives' names and offices were included in the document containing the year plan.

However, the plans addressed crucial issues such as price regulation, which falls under the purview of the Union's House Secretary. Mr. Qudus Olalekan, representing the Independence Hall constituency, highlighted the persistent concern of price regulation and inquired about the union's intended actions. In response, the president acknowledged the issue and assured measures would be implemented, acknowledging the dynamic nature of market prices influenced by the country's economic situation.

Following deliberations, the SRC resolved not to adopt the plans until the next session, stipulating that all necessary corrections must be made to the document.
