As expected, the Freshers' welcome is conducted at the start of every new academic session to officially welcome new students to the hall.
According to the official release, this year's event is expected to kick-off on Friday, 12th of July,2024 with the traditional freshers’ orientation. Activities are expected to continue the following day with the long awaited baptism exercise, free health check-up, and sporting activities. On Sunday, the concluding day of the annual event, a common pot and a gyration have both been scheduled to take place.
Zik Press Organisation reached out to the executive hall chairman Oluwadamilare Fabiyi(Fadaca) who gave a detailed clarification on how the event would be.
“For the freshers' welcome, I will say we are trying to instill the consciousness of getting results and not just being busy as students.We want them to exhibit quality of greatness in all ramifications, I will have to reference a quote i came up with in 2023. “The Uniqueness of a zikite is the balance of academic excellence, political consciousness, social participation in the culture of oneness, togetherness and brotherhood (Oluwadamilare Fabiyi, 2023) and that is what we want to establish. We are making it more productivity based and an encouragement of hard work for the students. We are going to have an elaborate “party” during the week," he revealed.
