The Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Health Committee, under the Health Minister, Oladimeji, organized first regular tank washing exercise of the new session on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
With the school resumption upon us, and every other activities taking shape to start the session, it is not unusual for the tank washing exercise to take place. It is an activity set aside to clean up tanks and make clean water accessible to the students in the new session.
In a chat with Mr. Oladimeji, he said, "It was a very a good experience overall, we at first had a poor turnout which make the event kicked off 14 minutes behind schedule.
Later we had, freshmen joined us, everyone was reluctant to join the exercise at first due to the fact that we're cleaning the tanks use for University central supply (awba dam tank) which has not been cleaned in a very long time.
I had to jump into the tank and kick off the exercise, then we had more Zikites joined us to offer their support"
When asked if he had any message to Zikites against the next tank washing exercise, he said "Yes, I want to express my deepest gratitude to every Zikite who actually turn out for this exercise."
“Also, I solicit for their unwavering support and commitment towards the hygiene of the hall. We'll be having cleaning exercises for the Hall soon as the Zik Hall league will be starting soon to, so in preparation for that, we shall be having clean up exercise."
This is the first tank washing exercise in the hall and hopefully there's more to come during the semester, this is how clean water is made available for students living in the Hall.
