The Ethics and Litigation Committee, Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, has on June 15, 2024, released a memo, warning Zikites against the walls defacement.
The memo was to end the defacement of walls and buildings in the hall which is a culture. Titled "Reminder and Warning Against Defacing Hall Property," the committee stated, in the memo, that it has received numerous cases of wall and buildings defacement. It stated, "It has come to our attention that there have been numerous cases of defacing walls, mirrors, lenses, doors and other restricted places within our hall."
It further stated that defacement contravened the constitution of the hall. "This is in direct violation of of section 11(5) of the Nnamdi Azikwe Hall constitution, 2019, which clearly states that defacing these areas is an offence."
The warning was not only limited to Zikites, but also Christian fellowships, businesses and other groups using the hall's facilities. It further stated that anyone caught will be prosecuted by the judicial council.
The memo was signed by Tomilayo Oyedeji, Attorney General, Nnamdi Azikwe Hall and Head, Ethics and Litigation Committee.
