Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Inaugurates Newly Elected Hall Executives

The newly elected executives of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, University of Ibadan have been inaugurated by the Hall electoral committee on 23rd of May, 2024.

The event, held at Zik Hall Junior Common Room (JCR), was led by Mr. Emmanuel Otumala, head of the Hall Electoral Committee.

Mr. Otumala commenced the program by introducing the members of the Hall Electoral Committee and the new executives. He also shared the challenges faced during the Hall’s first-ever E-voting election and how these were overcome through the collective efforts of the committee.


The inaugurated executives are:

FABIYI, Caleb Oluwadamilare as the Hall Chair

ONWUAMA, Victor Okechukwu as the Vice Hall Chair

ADEBAYO, Olufemi Lonimi as the General Secretary

ADEJUMOBI, Toyosi Michael as the Finance Minister

RIDWAN, Olamide Lawal as the Information and Publicity Minister (IPM)

SOTOMI, Oluwapelumi Daniel as the Social Minister

OJENIYI, Ayobami Emmanuel as the Sports Minister

Unfortunately, the newly elected Health Minister, OLADIMEJI, Oyindamola, was absent from the ceremony.

The outgoing Hall Chair, Uthman Adeniji, delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude towards his team, team sustainability. “To my fellow members of the executive council, I cannot thank you enough for your dedication, selflessness, and tireless contributions. Your teamwork, innovative ideas, and resilience have been the bedrock of our success. Together, we have navigated through numerous challenges and have always emerged stronger.”


Adeniji described his tenure as both challenging and rewarding, highlighting the support of the Zikites and the achievements in sustaining the Hall’s traditions. He emphasized the importance of leadership, noting that it requires dedication, resilience, and a commitment to serve others. He expressed confidence in the new executives to uphold and advance the Hall’s legacy.

“Leadership is not an easy task; it demands dedication, resilience, and a commitment to serve others. Leading this hall, filled with bright and ambitious students, has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience. With your support, we have been able to sustain the tradition of excellence, and I am confident that the next generation of Zikites will continue this legacy.”

He concluded with a message of optimism and fulfillment. “As I hand over the baton today, I do so with a sense of fulfillment and optimism. Fulfillment in what we have achieved together and optimism for the future of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall. I trust that the incoming leadership will carry forward our vision and build upon the foundation we have laid.”

The inauguration marks the beginning of a new chapter for Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, with the new executives expected to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation.
