In a recent wave of discontentment, Zikites have unveiled their grievances and displeasure over the constant inflated price of Lagbaja's goods.
The controversy began late Sunday evening when several Zikites took to the Official Zik Hall WhatsApp group for staylites to express their displeasure with the pricing of goods at Lagbaja's shop.
The primary point of contention was the cost of bread, which a Zikite claimed was being sold for ₦850, significantly higher than the ₦800 price he found at Indy Hall.
This price disparity sparked accusations of "greed" and pleas for intervention from the Hall executives. A Zikite, quoted anonymously, stated, "Lagbaja's things are extremely expensive, and it's the duty of the Hall's executives to check their greed and actively fix prices."
Another Zikite joined the dialogue, stated his experience, “Last year, I did buy Good-time tea at B-block for #50, upon getting to Lagbaja, he said it's #100. Even now, It's #60 at B-block while Lagbaja is stillselling it for #100”
The alleged price gouging has not been officially confirmed, and the Hall executives have yet to issue a statement on the matter. However, the incident highlights the ongoing concern over fair pricing within Zik Hall, where students often rely on on-campus shops for essential goods due to limited mobility.
Oodles of angry Zikites spilled words out of temper, attributing the inflation to do the laxity of the Hall executives.
