The Student Union of the University of Ibadan was on Thursday, 7th of March, 2024 part of 27 other student unions in Oyo state that received a bus from the executive governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
According to a post on the governor's X page, over 28 18-seater buses to Federal, State, Indigenous and Special Education institutions in Oyo State in fulfilment of a promise he (the governor )made to students.
"I announced that I had approved the payment of bursaries and scholarships to students and that the process will be online to ensure they can register to receive it easily. I also assured our students that our administration will continue to take measures to ease the hardship they are facing, and that my personal scholarship scheme will also be implemented within 8 weeks."
Efforts to reach UI'SU Team Rebirth excos for comment on this development has proved abortive as at the time of this publication.
