Philosophy thumps Animal Science in a 3-0 victory to clinch the Super Cup trophy at the sub-pitch on Saturday 5th, 2023.
In a competition that featured the champions of various faculties with the winners of the faculties of arts and agriculture facing off in the final.
With the likes of Biochemistry, Engineering, and vet medicine out of the competition, this final was as worthy of notice as any other.
It was a dominant display from the Plato boys in the first half, as the philosophy team proved to be a threat from set pieces with Awolowo’s dangerous crosses posing a threat to the opponent's defense on numerous occasions.
The animal science defense was caught off guard as philosophy took the lead when justice floated a superb cross to the back post from the right flank. Lakesjay stood up to meet the looping effort, As he headed it into the back of the net.
Plato boys doubled the lead thanks to Awolowo’s header leaving the opponent's team in shambles.
The faculty of arts champions added a third in the second half of proceedings to seal their victory. It was a display of superiority from the sons of Socrates clinching the Super Cup and adding another laurel to their cabinet
