On the second leg of the preliminary round of the inter hall/faculty debate competition of the University of Ibadan: Jaw war 2024, six halls have made it past the preliminary rounds after faceoffs with their opponents in battles of wits and words.
Independence Hall faced Obafemi Awolowo Hall in a contest on the topic: “Foreign Direct Investment is Doing More Harm Than Good." For the square-off between Nnamdi Azikwe Hall and Queen Elizabeth II Hall, they debated on the topic: “Media regulation: Stifling Press Freedom in Nigeria", while the debate between Ransome Kuti Hall and Sultan Bello Hall was on the topic: “Should Nigeria consider BRICs as Promising g Platform to Diversify Its International Alliance?”
The results and aggregate scores from the second leg of the debate include the following:

However, despite losing on aggregate, Alexander Brown Hall qualified to the quarterfinals as best losers.
