The event which was attended by representatives (senators) from Literary and Debating societies of Faculties and Halls of Residence across UI was themed: “Crossroads of change: Africa's evolution in the complex world”, scheduled to hold between 31st of January and 1st of March, 2024.
In his opening address, the
president of TLDSUI, Aweda Bolaji revealed that the event will feature over 30
debates encompassing topics which bothers across various sectors and industries.
Each debate, he says, will delve into multifaceted topics, striving to offer solutions,
propose policies, and instigate philosophies that shape perspectives and contribute
to the restoration of Nigeria's global relevance
At the upcoming UI Anniversary Edition, Jaw War aims not only to uphold its renowned high-energy atmosphere but to also elevate the discourse by fostering intelligent conversations and showcasing exceptional public speakers...
Bolaji further revealed
that the 2024 Jawwar will feature a special event called Return of Legends, an
event which will see renowned alumni in UI public speaking circle return to
face off and to engage in a panelist discussion. He also averred that the Jawwar
Nationals debate event will be expanded to include 7 universities from
Southwestern Nigeria.
