The residents of B3 constituency have given reviews of their floor representative, Hon. Elisha Ajiboye, the chief whip of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Legislative Council, in a survey conducted by ZHPO on Friday 21, April, 2023.
In a random survey conducted by ZHPO, we conversed with five random occupants asking them about their awareness, relationship and effectiveness of their floor rep and what impact he has made on the floor. The respondents had majorly good things to say about the floor rep with many giving him a good rating in terms of his performance as the floor representative.
In terms of awareness, the five respondents were able to point out the identity of the floor representative, and share a good relationship with him. They unveiled how he has been able to add them into a common group which makes it easier for them to reach out to him about issues affecting the floor.
The first respondent talked about how Elisha have been able to oversee the running of the floor by creating a good relationship among floor members and creating a good rapport with members of the floor. He talked about how the floor rep has been able to manage issues surrounding electrical sockets and toilets, and although things are not at their utmost best, the respondent was able to absolve the floor rep from blames regarding the state of toilet and feces on the floor, stating that the floor members themselves have to do better in the way they use the facilities. On a scale of 1 to 10, he rated him 7 which can be seen as a pass mark.
The second respondent, affirmed his knowledge of his floor rep, and spoke highly about his relationship and effectiveness, stating that he does not waste time, whenever he is called upon to find solutions to problem that might arise on the floor. The respondent respondent rated him 7/10 on his performance as a floor rep.
The third respondent, also gave a favourable review about his awareness and effective relationship with the floor rep. On the issue of facilities such as sockets and light, he reiterated what the previous respondent said, also absolving him of blame, saying “he can only report” with respect to issues that require the intervention of the management. In his own part he gave him a rating of 8.5/10.
The fourth respondent, talked about the relationship between the floor rep and the floor members as nominal, given that he created a platform on which floor members can reach out to him on issues affecting the floor. He is of the opinion that the floor rep is trying his best and there are no complaints about how he handles his duties. He also acknowledged the work of the floor rep in making the toilets more hygienic for use. He gave a rating of 7/10. The fifth respondent, also spoke highly of the floor rep and talked about how rapidly he responds to their complaints and issues on the floor. He gave him a rating of 8/10.
After getting the views of the floor members about the activities of their floor rep, ZHPO reached out to the floor representative himself, Elisha Ajiboye, who was happy about the positive reviews he got from his floor members and also gave insights into his activities and challenges he is facing in the process of discharging his duties as the floor rep.
In his own view, he said there have been a lot of challenges ranging from electricity, doors and toilets. He stated that on the issue of electricity, they have been able to acquire the help and services of Nanotechnology (a student electrician), who has come in handy in helping them resolve their electrical issues.
He also talked about the breaking of toilet doors by alien occupants from the upper floor who are reluctant to use their floor and would rather use the B3 toilets. He also shed more light on the despicable act of defecating on the floor of the bathroom and other areas around the floor. He also point out the problem of people smoking weed on the floor which he felt is related to the feces that they have been seeing around the floor.
Although he was given a good review by his floor members, Elisha says he tries as much as possible to keep the relationship professional and cordial in order to avoid situations that might lead to disrespect and tarnish their relationship as floor mates.
