Zik Press swears in new Editorial Board, Francis Orok emerges E-in-C

The Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Press Organization, Zik press, swore in a new editorial board with Mr. Francis Orok emerging as the Editor-in-Chief at the Zik press dinner which held on Saturday 11th of December 2021. The names of the newly inaugurated board members are, Editor-in-Chief – Francis Orok, Deputy Editor-in-chief – Joel Awoyemi, General Editor – Oluwatosin Ekundayo, Managing Editor – Michael Ariyo, News Editor – Adewale Adegbite, Features Editor – Emmanuel Akinkuoile, Sports Editor – Samson Aremu, Chief Correspondent – David Pelumi, Deputy Chief Correspondent – Korede Teriba. The new editorial board takes over from the outgoing 2020/2021 set led by Mr. Olumide Toyinbo and his able deputy Mr. Jesutofunmi Idowu.


The event which was held at the Zik hall JCR had notable guests in attendance such as the former Editor in Chief of Zik press, Mr. Victor Kekereekun, the Zik hall legislative council speaker, Hon. Emmanuel Otumala, the deputy speaker, Hon. Uthman Adeniji and the CSO of the Baluba kingdom, in the person of Mr. Ogunrinde Joshua Abayomi. Other important personalities were in attendance.


The event also featured the presenting of awards to distinguished members of the press. The Mascot award of best inductee sponsored by Mr. Kekereekun Victor was won by Mr. Adegbite Adewale, with cash prize attached. Other awardees were Mr. Francis Orok who won the award for the most industrious journalist and the award for the biggest news story which was jointly won with Mr. Bello Toheeb. Other awardees were Mr. Olumide Toyinbo, Mr. Tofunmi, Mr. Feranmi Alatise, and Mr. Victor Kekereekun who was awarded the alumni of the year.
The event marked the end of the press activities for the session.
