Baluba Kingdom: Setting the Pace? (II)

Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall is a pacesetter. While the new normal is greatly affecting activities on campus, Zik Hall is effectively coordinating her activities at a commendable level.

Constructive criticism is essential, however commendation is not sin when efforts are made to do things right. The handover seemingly opened the floor for resumption of activities in the Hall. It is hoped that the fervency will not abruptly stop notwithstanding the virtual mode generally in force in the varsity.

Yet again, after structural building of relevant arms and sections of the Hall administration, the leadership of the Hall successfully organised a special virtual programme for freshmen allocated to Zik Hall. Of course, the participatory level of the freshmen is commendable. Unarguably, this is the first event specifically for freshmen to be organised by any Hall of Residence in the University of Ibadan.

Zikism is not just about Aro or gyration. It is also about attaining academic excellence. The programme which included academic seminar proves that point. Indeed, zikism is being upheld notwithstanding the pandemic.

Asides the academic Committee, the health committee is currently building up. One can only hope to see means to be deployed to realise the essence of the Committees regardless of the virtual learning currently in place. Time will only tell.
